Major Highlights

One day Nutrition Conclave “Empowerment through Nutrition: Together towards a Healthy Keonjhar” was organized by the District Administration today. Experts, Academicians & Practitioners in the field of Nutrition deliberated upon multiple discourses of Health and Nutrition.
A Creche Guideline was released by the guests. A replica of the Creche and Millet Exhibition Stall was also inaugurated by dignitaries on this occasion.
Frontline functionaries like Anganwadi workers, ASHA, ANM, and Creche workers attended this conclave and presented community perspectives on nutrition.

Objectives
->To recognize, showcase and document various best practices and innovations adopted by states and UTs for addressing their Public Health challenges.
-> To improve their health outcomes through better implementation of programs under National Health Mission
-> to foster cross learnings amongst the state government, NGOs, Healthcare organizations and other academic institutions.
Participants and Dignitaries
Summit has participation from all States and Union Territories with Principal Secretaries ( Public Health), Secretaries Health, Mission Directors ( National Health Mission) and Director ( Health & FW) from States along with program officers, officials from Government of India along- with heads of program divisions, Mo HFW, Development Partners, Civil Society representatives and other healthcare organizations as key participants
National summit- 6, 2019, Gujrat- Key highlights
->National Health Mission, Jharkhand and Ekjut presented the Integration of Spatio – Temporal Framework in Strengthening Public Health Surveillance System that showcased the spatial mapping of ASHAs from 32 ,000 villages of Jharkhand.
->Real time and digitization of reports and use of one platform for multiple purpose was established and advocated.

National summit- 5, 2018, Assam- Key highlights
->National Health Mission, Jharkhand and Ekjut presented the role of Sahiyas( ASHAs) in preventing Violence against women using PLA approaches.
->Violence against women as an issue can be addressed at
community level using participatory tools was established.

National summit- 3, 2016, Tirupati- Key highlights
->National Health Mission, Jharkhand along with Ekjut being Technical partner showcased Participatory Learning and Action ( PLA) as an approach to improve maternal and newborn health.
->Different States like Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Uttarkhand proactively implemented PLA.

Participants and Dignitaries

Senior officials from health department of more than 15 states, including Additional Chief Secretary, Health, MP; Joint Secretary, Policy, NHM, Asha program, Ministry of Health & amp; Family Welfare, GOI; Mission Director, National Health Mission – MP; and other senior dignitaries from government and development partners participated in the event along with Health Directors and Deputy directors

Major Highlights

Participatory Learning and Action ( PLA) Approach initiatives were showcased and Govt officials from different states shared their experiences. Got an opportunity to hear voices from the field. Different state officials and development partners witnessed the field implementation in the state by NHM, Madhya Pradesh.
