Our Refund & Cancellation Policy

For Indian Donors

Ekjut has a donation refund policy to ensure fair and transparent processing of requests for refund of donations. Ekjut expects that all donors will take due care and diligence while making donations. Ekjut will examine each request for refund of donation and endeavour to make the refund. Ekjut doesn’t encourage Refund or Cancellation of donations. Ekjut is not obliged to make refunds and may, in its discretion, decline any requests for refund of donations, particularly if a tax exemption certificate has been issued. We offer a refund policy to the donors only in case of an error/technical reason for the transfer, on account of which donors have mistakenly made payments twice or donated an amount greater than intended.

If you would like your donation to Ekjut to be refunded You must request Ekjut by email for a refund within 15 (fifteen) days from the date on which you made the donation.
1. Made the donation online, electronically or through other means, OR
2. Handed over the cheque / demand draft to Ekjut or someone authorised by Ekjut for this purpose, OR
3. Despatched the cheque / demand draft to Ekjut by other means.

The written request stating reason for requesting refund must be sent to ekjutindia@gmail.com and must contain all the following details pertaining to the donation:
1. Date of donation
2. Donation amount
3. If donation was made through cheque/draft, please provide Cheque/Draft no.
4. If donation was made through credit card, please provide Credit Card no. (last 4 digits only).
5. If donation was made online, please provide Donation-ID or transaction ID

Ekjut may also seek further information / documents and donor must co-operate in this regard. Ekjut will process the donation amount after deducting the bank charges. Further If any transaction is cancelled by the user during the processing period and the amount is not credited to the bank account of the Ekjut but has been debited from the user account. Ekjut is not at all responsible for a refund for the same. The matter has to be resolved by the user with their bank.

The refund of grant is subject to signed agreement between the Ekjut and the Grantor or foundations.

For Non – Indian Donors

Refunds of foreign donations will not be possible once the funds are transferred for all foreign donors as per Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA) and amendment Act.

The Receipt:

We will send you a provisional receipt for your donation via email within 15 working days of us receiving the donation with all valid details. A formal receipt of Donation will be issued after 31st May immediately following the end of the financial year in which the donation is received.

As per clauses (viii) and (ix) of sub-section (S) of Section 80G of the Income Tax Act introduced with effect from 1st April, 2021, Ekjut (the Donee) will file ’Statement of Donations received” (in Form No.1OBD) having details of donors and donations received and will be issuing the Certificates to the donors (in Form No.1OBE) having details of the donee, details of donor and details of donation received during the financial year, by 31st May immediately following the end of the financial year in which the donation is received. As per the foresaid provisions, deduction on account of the donation under Section 80G shall be allowed to the donor only on the basis of the Statement of Donations filed by the Donee with the Income Tax authority.
